Physio Board
With Galya Harel, Elyakim Dahan and Keren Yerushalmi
This project was developed in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Department at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, which provides physiotherapy to patients with varying motor conditions. Despite the department's need for specialized tools to facilitate motor exercises during the therapy process, such tools are often unavailable, leaving staff to resort to using children's toys as a substitute.
Recognizing the difficulties and frustrations that adult patients experience during the rehabilitation process, we aimed to design a dedicated tool that would possess a mature appearance and character, while preserving the playful and challenging spirit that motivates effective therapy.
To develop this tool, we drew inspiration from the aesthetics of climbing walls, creating 3D plates that could be configured in a versatile manner, along with attachable "stones" that could be used in various attachment methods, depending on the patient's specific motoric needs and abilities. By combining function and aesthetics, we aimed to create a tool that would help patients progress effectively through the rehabilitation process while also instilling a sense of pride and accomplishment in their efforts.
