Did you know that one out of three people around us experiences challenges with their sense of smell? This can manifest as an increased or decreased sense of smell, and for many who experience hypersensitivity, it stems from sensory regulation disorders. As a result, ordinary smells can be perceived as particularly strong or annoying, which can have a daily impact on their mood, social behaviors and ability to concentrate.
With this in mind, I set out to create a product that helps individuals train their sense of smell to deal with sensory overload or a poor sense. I turned to the sensory diet method to guide my training program and the design choices, which were heavily influenced by the difficulty and overwhelm experienced by my target audience.
My product design features a clean and minimalist style that minimizes noise and irritation as much as possible, except for the necessary sensory input during use.
I also made sure to create a fresh, attractive, and exclusive product that encourages users to come closer and take a deep breath..
